The year was 1917, and at the time I was living in France. Everything seemed to be well, but then I caught word that Papa lost his job. He tried to hide this fact from us, but my brother and I started to notice some differences. However, we were still a happy family together. We had Mama, my brother Felipe, Papa, and our dog Scruffy. Mama is real involved with the community, so in a way that is her job. In fact, she wanted me to try out for a local musical, and to be honest, I didn’t even know how to play the piano. So, in secret, I asked Papa if he could help, and he said my aunt knew how to play. So Papa, Felipe and I went to her home, in fact we walked there. It felt like it was about 30 minutes away. My aunt had a huge home. There were many beautiful paintings, hanging from the walls encased in golden frames. Our aunt took us into what she called the “piano room.” It was a turquoise room, with beautiful drapery and a Pleyer brand piano. My aunt seemed like she was usually calm, but Felipe became frustrated upon trying different instruments and he was asked to wait outside with Scruffy, who unknowingly until now, came along for the trip. I learned how to play, slowly, and Papa just sat against a wall, smoking a little and reading a book. I made a lot of progress that day said my aunt, but she thinks I have a lot of learning to do. So, she said I could walk down there anytime I wanted to, for sharpening skills and learning more.

The Music Lesson Rewrite Review

In this piece of writing I got really creative so I could turn a picture into an actual story. I actually wrote this piece in a little under 10 minutes so there were a few mistakes made. Mostly just gaps in the story, where some parts didn’t make sense. I didn’t make as many rearrangements of parts of the story as much as actual story changes.
